The renderings show a radically modified front bumper, featuring larger air intakes and a prominent front diffuser, which continues to the rear and sides of the concept. Most notably however are the omission of any form of front fog lamps which tend to adorn most performance oriented models.
Twin exhaust outlets and yet more aerodynamic elements complete the rear end, whilst the rolling stock is comprised of 10-spoke alloy wheels.
The original Mazda6 MPS featured an all-paw drivetrain, sharing the same turbocharged 2.3-litre engine from the Mazda3 MPS.
With the future of the potent Mazda6 in doubt, this early concept will serve to gauge consumer response when it débuts at the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon.
